About

Hi, and welcome to NetScope.fun. We make free calculators that translate internet numbers into answers you can actually use. No sign-up, no jargon and no “contact sales”.

Why we built this

If you have ever stared at “200 Mbps” on a plan and “25 MB/s” in a download window and wondered whether someone was fibbing, you already know the problem. Plans are sold in bits, files are measured in bytes, and a fast connection can still feel slow if the ping is bad. Most people are never told any of that, so a perfectly normal result can look like a broken connection.

NetScope.fun exists to close that gap. Each tool answers one everyday question: how long will this download take, how much data will that use, is this ping good enough, what plan do we need at home.

What makes the tools different

  • We show our working. Every tool page explains the formula and walks through a real example, so you can check the maths by hand.
  • Your numbers stay with you. Calculations run in your own browser. We do not collect or store what you type into a calculator.
  • We are honest about limits. The results are estimates. Wi-Fi, equipment, servers and congestion all change real speeds, and we say so instead of promising miracles.
  • Written for people. The articles are written in plain language, the way you would explain it to a friend.

Who is behind NetScope.fun?

NetScope.fun is an independent project run by a small team that cares about clear, useful network information. We test the formulas against known values, review pages when standards or typical speeds change, and update tool pages with a “last reviewed” date so you can see how fresh they are.

How the site is paid for

The tools are free. We may show advertising, and when we do, it is clearly labelled and kept separate from our advice. Ads never decide what we recommend. Read more in our editorial policy.

Spotted a mistake?

Please tell us. Email fipolearn@gmail.com with the tool name, the numbers you entered and what you expected, and we will look into it. You can also read how the tools work or browse all calculators.
